Companies Showing Their Support

Some major companies are showing support to the LGBT community.

LUSH

The company LUSH which makes fresh handmade cosmetics, made a sparkly gold and beautiful smelling bar of soap. Lush’s website says that it helps out the LGBT community and the campaign group All Out because money from your purchase funds grassroots campaign groups around the world. Lush encourages you to take a selfie with your bar of soap and post it on social media with #GayIsOk to raise awareness.

American Apparel

American Apparel collaborated with Human Rights Campaign and came out with a Pride Tee. They come in short sleeve and tank top, and they are either black or white with the red equal sign.

It has been two weeks since the Supreme Court voted in favor of marriage equality in the United States. There is still a very long way to go until the entire world is equal, but these are two companies that are raising awareness.

One of my favorite YouTubers Jaclyn Hill collaborated with Becca Cosmetics and just released a highlighter called Champagne Pop. I ordered it on sephora.com the second it was released. The package finally came today and I have to say I was so excited I may have shed a tear. The color is perfect for my skin tone, and I usually have a hard time with highlighters because I am so pale. I am obsessed with it and I will be repurchasing because I know I will go through it real quick.

Definitely go check it out, I think it will work on so many skin tones.

Burberry Makeup

Burberry is my favorite brand, I love the style and everything about it. So I figured that I would try some of their makeup. For the lips I tried a classic red. I love the way the lipstick feels on the lips and the lip gloss is so pigmented and smells so good. I also wanted to try the fresh glow. I love this for the summer because it gives your face a perfect glow. You can either put it on before your foundation or mix it in with your foundation, and it comes in two colors.

I am a huge follower of MAC, and a huge fan of Fix+. So when I found out that there was going to be a limited edition of scented ones I was super excited. MAC came out with five wonderful scents. They are rose, lavender, yuzu, cucumber & coconut. The only one I couldn’t get my hands on was the coconut one, it was sold out everywhere. I have all the other ones and they smell so good! I share them with my parents and we have a huge option of scents when we use them every night. If you can still find them at your local MAC store I would definitely recommend to try them out. It leaves your face feeling so fresh.

June Favorites

WOW! June has been absolutely crazy. It has been nonstop between me ending my semester this past week and going to family gatherings (always a lot in June every year). I am finally on summer vacation and don’t go back again until October, so besides reading as many books as I can and watching Game Of Thrones, I will be posting as much more often.

These have been a life saver this month. The end of the semester is always hard and stressful and it is very important not to forget about your skin. They are so relaxing and cooling for the face. I am attempting to try all of the types.

H&M – Flared Skirt

This is the perfect summer skirt, perfect length and so flowly. It won’t stick to your skin and the color is very much in trend.

Banana Republic

I go to school near a Banana Republic outlet, and during one of my breaks I finally went there and fell in love with the store. They were having a huge sale and I picked up a few things. This black v-neck shirt is perfect for me because it has a thick material and feels so comfortable. If you have never been to Banana Republic you should definitely go and check it out.

Hair Care

Bumble & Bumble – Surf Spray

It’s offically summer! For me that means beach waves and there is no better way to get it naturally. I love that it comes in two sizes. I first got the small size to see if I liked it, and I did, so then I got the full size. The small one will go on vacations with me.

Music

Tori Kelly – Unbreakable Smile

I first discovered Tori Kelly when she opened for Ed Sheeran at Madison Square Garden in 2013. I loved her music ever since. I was so happy to see that she was finally coming out with a full length album. I love this album so much, she writes about real things and I love her lyrics.

Concert

I went to see Imagine Dragons and Halsey opened up. It was a last minute concert. I went because of Halsey (my new obsession, so I had to go see her even if she was just going to play six songs) but then fell in love with Imagine Dragons. They are some of the best performers I have ever seen and I can’t wait to see them play again.

Well, here it is! The product everyone has been talking about. I now know why everyone has been talking about it. I have fallen in love with this foundation. It’s description says it is for all skin types (I have normal to oily skin) hydrating silky texture and buildable coverage and that is exactly what it is. I will not lie the first time I put it on I hated it but that is because I was not used to this type of texture in a foundation, I usually wear fully matte. The second time I used it, I applied it carefully and let it sink in and instantly I saw a difference. I now love it and find myself only using this foundation every morning. I am currently trying different combinations with and without primers. Right now I am loving the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer with it, who would have thought a drugstore primer paired with a high end foundation.

If you have seen this talked about as much as I have. I just made the plunge to buy it, you should too! I don’t want to get addicted to such a high end foundation, but that might be what’s going to happen.

I also purchased this from Nordstrom in the Topshop section. It just reminded me of summer and I thought it would go perfectly with a white outfit on the beach.

Birkenstock – ‘Arizona’ Soft Footbed Sandal

My parents always put me in Birkenstock as a kid. Of course when I was a kid though they weren’t popular and I was the only one kid in my summer camps wearing them. I have not had a pair since I was 13 so I figured that I would invest in a pair since I already knew how well they were made and how comfortable they are.

Music

I went to a few Ed Sheeran concerts this month so I got the tour book. He is my favorite artist and it is coming up on three years since I saw him for the first time. The first time I saw him was June 12, 2012 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn and there were 500 people there, now this past weekend I saw him at the Barclay”s Center in Brooklyn and there were 18,000 people there. So safe to say I was feeling a bit emotional. I was very excited for all of the shows and they were all amazing, like always. Every time I see him play a live show it just gets better and better.

This is a beautiful cream-gel bronzer that has a velvety finish, as the Chanel site says and that is exactly what it is. I am a very pale person, so I was hesitant to purchase a bronzer but I heard so many good reviews about this product. Since summer is approaching I decided to just go for it. In the summer I don’t like to wear foundation and I don’t necessarily need to because I get some color from the sun, but I just wanted a little something extra for the summer. So, this is it! I like that it is cream based because it can lay on the skin better for summer. It is also very bendable and you can build up the product to your liking (as you see above: the top swatch is blended and the bottom swatch is not blended). Another thing that is good about this product it lasts forever. When I bought it at the Chanel counter the lady said you will have this for a long time, it’t a good investment piece to have in your makeup collection.

This month was a fun one. Friends from Germany came and visited the family and we all had a great time. We went to Bear Mountain and shopping and NYC and shopping. It was a good time. I also went to go prom dress shopping for my mom’s godchild at Macy’s in NYC. So I was at many shopping centers this month.

YSL – Baby Doll Kiss & Blush – Number 12 Mocha Garconne

I already made a separate post about this but it also deserves to be in my favorites. Not only is it my favorite color I have seen on my lips ever, it feels like butter on your lips as well. I want to stock up on these so I will never be without it.

Bite Beauty – High Pigment Pencil – Madeira

My friend Luisa introduced me to Bite Beauty and I picked up two different formulas from her recommendation and I am loving them. This one is very creamy, and this shade is a very nice nude.

Bite Beauty – Matte Crème Lip Crayon – Léché

This one is matte but still feels so creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips at all. Love this shade as well.

MAC – Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

My foundation shade has always been off so I finally went to get a new foundation. I didn’t know how much I needed a new foundation until I got this one. I am in love with the finish that it gives on my face and it feels so much better than my previous foundation. I would not wear this every single day because it is a medium to full coverage and I don’t need that everyday but for the days I want to wear a full face of makeup it is perfect. It feels like it isn’t even there. I was matched twice, the first I was matched to NW20 and the second time NW10. The NW10 matches me perfectly but if I am feeling pale then I will add a bit of NW20 to warm up my face. (I have oily to normal skin)

I love these so much, I am going to wear them all summer. Any type of black boots are my favorite.

American Candy – The Maine

My favorite band came out with a new cd! Nothing else has been in my cd player since. There are some albums that you wish you could tweet and mark up every journal with the lyrics on the cd and this is definitely one of those albums.
