Bronzing Makeup Base

This is a beautiful cream-gel bronzer that has a velvety finish, as the Chanel site says and that is exactly what it is. I am a very pale person, so I was hesitant to purchase a bronzer but I heard so many good reviews about this product. Since summer is approaching I decided to just go for it. In the summer I don’t like to wear foundation and I don’t necessarily need to because I get some color from the sun, but I just wanted a little something extra for the summer. So, this is it! I like that it is cream based because it can lay on the skin better for summer. It is also very bendable and you can build up the product to your liking (as you see above: the top swatch is blended and the bottom swatch is not blended). Another thing that is good about this product it lasts forever. When I bought it at the Chanel counter the lady said you will have this for a long time, it’t a good investment piece to have in your makeup collection.

April Favorites

This month was a fun one. Friends from Germany came and visited the family and we all had a great time. We went to Bear Mountain and shopping and NYC and shopping. It was a good time. I also went to go prom dress shopping for my mom’s godchild at Macy’s in NYC. So I was at many shopping centers this month.

YSL – Baby Doll Kiss & Blush – Number 12 Mocha Garconne

I already made a separate post about this but it also deserves to be in my favorites. Not only is it my favorite color I have seen on my lips ever, it feels like butter on your lips as well. I want to stock up on these so I will never be without it.

Bite Beauty – High Pigment Pencil – Madeira

My friend Luisa introduced me to Bite Beauty and I picked up two different formulas from her recommendation and I am loving them. This one is very creamy, and this shade is a very nice nude.

Bite Beauty – Matte Crème Lip Crayon – Léché

This one is matte but still feels so creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips at all. Love this shade as well.

MAC – Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

My foundation shade has always been off so I finally went to get a new foundation. I didn’t know how much I needed a new foundation until I got this one. I am in love with the finish that it gives on my face and it feels so much better than my previous foundation. I would not wear this every single day because it is a medium to full coverage and I don’t need that everyday but for the days I want to wear a full face of makeup it is perfect. It feels like it isn’t even there. I was matched twice, the first I was matched to NW20 and the second time NW10. The NW10 matches me perfectly but if I am feeling pale then I will add a bit of NW20 to warm up my face. (I have oily to normal skin)

I love these so much, I am going to wear them all summer. Any type of black boots are my favorite.

American Candy – The Maine

My favorite band came out with a new cd! Nothing else has been in my cd player since. There are some albums that you wish you could tweet and mark up every journal with the lyrics on the cd and this is definitely one of those albums.

This is a very high end product purchase but it is so worth it. Number 12 will forever be my signature lip shade to wear.

It is a product that can be used for both the lips and the cheeks. The formula is so creamy and has a beautiful soft matte finish. It currently comes in 12 shades, and I own 12 Mocha Garconne.

If you are looking to treat yourself to a high end product I would suggest this. I am a very big fan of everything YSL.

March, I don’t even remember it looking back. Very busy month. I hardly posted in March because I was writing final papers all month, it’s my own fault I procrastinate too much. I went to an outlet mall this month and a book signing, so that was exciting. This favorites is going to be short but here it is!

These are perfect for blending under eye concealer.

Sigma – F80 Flat Kabuki

I love this brush SO much. I don’t even know how I my foundation looked good before this brush. I would recommend this to everyone.

Too Faced – Melted Lipstick in Melted Sugar

I never really stray away from MAC lipsticks but I am glad I did on this one, It wears really well.

Laura Mercier – Secret Brightening Powder

This is one of my favorite makeup products ever. This is perfect for putting on over concealer, it brightens up the under eye so much.

Vans -Metallic Leather Slip-On

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate these, I am so in love with them. I saw them and absolutely had to have them. I bought them for a certain even in summer and I can’t wait to wear them!!

Books

Shane Dawson – I Hate Myselfie

This was the book signing that I went to. The book was pre signed but I couldn’t stay to meet him. I love Shane Dawson and I love this book, if you have watched any of his videos you would enjoy this book.

I also read Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher this month. It was very good! Everyone currently in High School needs to read this book! It is about a girl who commits suicide and leaves a voice recording tape to 13 people that played a part in her suicide.

Music

James Bay’s CD came out this month! It is very good, if you love acoustic music then I would definitely suggest to listen to it.

February Favorites

WOW! I can’t believe that it is already the end of February. That went by so fast. I have been extremely busy with school this month because I had my midterm week and all my classes announced a final paper. So, I have not purchased that much this month. I went to the drug store once, I got my hair done, got those boots online on a good boots sale and the sweater is from H&M. I have really been into writing this month so a personal essay may be coming soon.

I usually don’t buy drug store products because my skins is super sensitive and oily, so my face and drug store products always become an issue.. but this line is amazing. It is definitely high quality, the setting spray, the foundation and the powder is as good as my high end products. Would definitely re-purchase.

– Hand Relief Moisturizing Cream

This is a high end product but it is so worth it. I got them at my local hair salon that I go to. The eye cream I just got a few days ago so I will let you know how it is, but I can already tell so far so good. The hand cream on the other hand I have used every single day this month. It is so worth it if you have dry hands from the winter. It is perfection, I can not say enough good things about this hand cream.

Chelsea boots are my favorite style of boots and I have been wanted one with a pointed toe. I received an email that there was a sale on shoes on boohoo. I got them. Love them. So Much. Wear them all the time.

I saw this sweater on tumblr last month and had to find it. It is H&M+ so it was perfect for me. It is such a classic sweater and so big and comfy.

Music

I did not buy the actual cd yet, but I got it on iTunes.. Reflection by Fifth Harmony!! This album is so fun, that is the only way that I can describe it. Every single song I want to dance around my room and pretend that it’s now Sixth Harmony because I obviously think I have joined the group.

Another album that came out recently was Leave Your Love – EP by Tyler Carter. I love it so much. Love him so much.

Also, I went to a Chris Brown and Trey Songz concert this past weekend so I have been listening to them non-stop.

I have been listening to this cover ever since it has come out. Everything Ed touches turns into gold.

The Grammys

Yay! It’s Grammy Day!

I love the Grammys. It is my all time favorite award show. I remember being so excited to stay up and watch The Grammys when I was younger. I love the red carpet so much, seeing everyone dress up in the coolest outfits for the greatest music award show. Music has always been my first love from such a young age. I always love the collaborations that the artist do, they are my favorite. The last two years have been my favorite because my favorite artist, Ed Sheeran had been nominated. Sadly, he has not won a Grammy yet but maybe he will this year.

Both Ed Sheeran’s album X and Sam Smith’s Album In The Lonely Hour are nominated for a Grammy this year. They have been some of my favorite albums this past year and I hope they both win a Grammy.

As for guessing who will actually win a Grammy, I can’t. I feel like the people who pick the winners can be so random on who they choose. It always happens that I would want a certain artist to win but I would not get my hopes up ever because I would think the obvious choice would win and then some random person wins. It always happens. So now I just watch The Grammys to enjoy the performances and don’t get my hopes up too much that my favorite artist will win.

January Favorites

This month I went back to college after the longest break ever, from May to December, and had time to explore the world and myself. But now finally in January it was time to get back into the groove of things and finish my college degree. I would be lying to myself and everyone else if I did not admit that getting back to a normal routine was very difficult. With stress comes retail therapy, so here are my favorites from the month.

Also, I will be on a schedule with posting now. There will be a new post at least once a week, every Sunday, and maybe if I am feeling inspired twice a week. Oh, and of course my monthly favorites the last day of each month.

I love black boots so much, so why not get them in white. I can not wait to wear these with either tights and a dress or with light wash jeans in the summer.

I can’t rave enough about this color, when I put the lipstick and the gloss on for the first time I was almost in tears! It is the perfect pink color.

I’m not going to lie, I did not have a countdown set for this album. I heard it was coming out and was not super excited but as soon as I picked it up I did not take it out of my cd player. I didn’t think anything would top Save Rock and Roll for me because I was in love with that album but I enjoy this album very much. My personal favorites after listening to the album a few times are Irresistible, The Kids Aren’t All Right & Novocaine but I am sure that will change the more I listen to the album.

I heard this song for the first time on Sirius Coffee House Station. I instantly fell in love with it and searched for it. Then suddenly I saw him popping up everywhere, a show in NYC, at the Burberry Fashion Show and opening for Taylor Swift on the European leg of the tour (ugh wish it was in America).

The past few weeks I have been thinking hard about what my first post should be about. Then, I thought that I should probably introduce myself first. So, here I go…

Hi there! I’m Kelly, I am twenty and I live in New York. Welcome to my fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. I am currently attending college for business management but my passion is doing anything creative. I am just a shy, but not quiet, quirky, artsy type of person. I have always wanted to write a blog and start a YouTube channel for as long as I can remember. Whenever I have free time I am always watching some of my favorite people on YouTube and I am always wishing I had their life. Then about a year ago, I decided I was going to start a YouTube channel and a blog, even though I am not that great at writing. I thought that I have somewhat of an interesting life and a lot of free time, so why don’t I fill my free time with doing something I love.

I have always dreamed of owing a little “hole in the wall” cafe, bookstore, artsy type of place where people can come to listen to soothing acoustic music and relax, read, paint, knit or whatever they enjoy to do.

…but, in the meantime I am obsessed with fashion, love to discover new beauty products and take pictures to share with the world. I love how bloggers can inspire people to feel better by helping them with life situations and making fashion, beauty and lifestyle suggestions.

My goal in life is to inspire people and help them to be all that they can be.
